The Music Business 4.0 course is designed for those who want to deepen their understanding of the music industry. In essence, the course is suitable for all professionals in this field: producers, arrangers, owners of record labels or event agencies, session musicians, and more broadly, anyone involved or looking to get involved in the various activities that collectively make up the profession in today's music world. Participation does not require prior knowledge or any other requirement.

The goal of the course is to provide the student with a comprehensive overview of the music industry and its functioning, transmitting the critical and technical tools necessary to assess one's position within it. Moreover, the course aims to helping students build a solid and sustainable career. By the end of the course, students will be capable of critically analyze themselves as professionals in the music industry and strategically plan their actions and choices in line with their ambitions and professional aspirations. In this regard, some of the educational projects developed during the Music Business course have evolved into independent professional realities, allowing students to effectively enter the music industry.

As an illustrative but not exhaustive overview, the course covers the transformation of the music market and the digital revolution, the emergence of new sharing-based communication models and the differences compared to previous models. It also delves into the production and promotion cycle of an independent album, the professional use of social networks, the concept of community, musical brand positioning, brand awareness, entry strategies, and market positioning. Additionally, the course provides an overview of key industry players (labels, booking agencies, publishers, press offices, producers) and their specific functions. Finally, it introduces legal and regulatory aspects of the music world, exploring concepts such as copyright, publishing, related rights, and it provides an overview of major contractual relationships, both by outlining their general characteristics and offering concrete examples.
