Let's conclude the week dedicated to Subsonica with a brief overview of the Turin-based band's recent years' activities.
With a clever communication strategy involving a series of amateur horror videos known as "paraSubnormal activity," Subsonica unveils their sixth album in the making, "Eden," set for release in March 2011. The videos, part of the amateur TV series, humorously confront criticisms of their alleged commercialism. The plot follows the group being attacked by a killer during the album recordings at their countryside home. In January 2011, they release "Istrice," a few months ahead of the album's launch. A few years later, in 2014, the band announces the single "Lazzaro" from the seventh album, "Una nave in una foresta." The arena tour the same year marks the end of a period of significant success for the band.
In 2016, Samuel temporarily leaves the group, which decides to take a break. This provides an opportunity for other band members to pursue their already numerous and successful solo and music production activities. The band's complete return in 2018 brings the album "8," while the following year, Subsonica releases "Microchip temporale," a reissue of "Microchip emozionale" in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Each track features collaborations with various Italian artists (Coma Cose, Achille Lauro, Willie Peyote, Nitro, Gemitaiz, and others). Finally, a few weeks ago, Subsonica released their latest album titled "Realtà Aumentata."
Today, we present the iconic "Lazzaro" for your listening pleasure. Enjoy!
