Masterclass with Francesco Vecchia. Three notes, two genres: triads in Blues and
Rock 'n' Roll between history and music.
Francesco Vecchia, a bassist and multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience in the Italian music scene, presents a new Masterclass aimed at students of the school and external participants. This extraordinary opportunity offers a unique exploration of the Blues and Rock 'n' Roll genres, with a particular focus on the role of the bass. The objective of the Masterclass is to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the cultural and musical aspects of these two pillars of contemporary music, equipping them with the necessary tools to assimilate and incorporate the fundamental elements of these genres into their own musical styles.
What To Expect
Â
Francesco Vecchia will guide participants through an introductory phase of presentation and historical explanation of the socio-cultural contexts in which these two genres have developed. During this part of the course, significant listening examples will be provided, which will be analyzed in relation to the culture of the time and their impact on contemporary music.
In the second part of the Masterclass, there will be a more detailed focus on the rhythmic and harmonic structures characteristic of Blues and Rock 'n' Roll. Special attention will be devoted to the concept of triads and their fundamental application in the context of the electric bass, aiming to provide students with the necessary tools to create effective, creative, and stylistically coherent bass lines.
What to Expect
During the event, Ivano Gruarin will alternate between explaining the fundamental elements for sound building and guiding participants through hands-on exercises to apply what they have learned. All aspects of the modern guitarist's sound chain will be discussed, and Ivano will share valuable knowledge and strategies to help you refine your sound, providing personalized feedback and advice.
The interesting aspect of the masterclass is that even if you are not a guitarist, you will still receive valuable information essential for today's musician. In fact, topics will include effects (EQ, Compressors, Distortion, Modulation, Reverb), microphone placement and amplifier choice, four-cable method connection, pedalboard assembly, and much more.
