Good morning and welcome back to a new episode of Musical Disclosure. This week, we're returning to Italy with some healthy rock: we'll be talking about Litfiba.

The band, influenced by punk and new wave music of that period, formed in the early 1980s with a lineup of five members: Federico Renzulli, also known as "Ghigo," on guitar and vocals, Gianni Maroccolo on bass, Antonio Aiazzi on keyboards, Francesco Calamai on drums, and Piero Pelù on vocals. With the help of manager Bruno Casini, the band began to make a name for themselves in the Florence area and in 1982 released their first self-titled EP. That same year, the band won the Italian Rock Festival "Il Rock mette i denti". In 1983, at the G.A.S. studio, Litfiba began collaborating with producer Alberto Pirelli, recording the single "Luna/La preda" and participating in various projects, including the soundtrack "Eneide di Krypton" and the compilation "Body Section". In 1984, the EP "Yassassin" was released, an effective response to the wave of electronic music at the time. Despite the success, the release of the album was delayed. The band, with Alberto Pirelli, who had recently founded I.R.A. Records, released their first LP, "Desaparecido," in 1975, which was a synthesis of the band's early activities and new wave sounds. In 1986, the second album "17 re" established Litfiba as one of the most ambitious and innovative bands in the Italian scene. The so-called "Trilogy of Power" concluded in 1988 with the album "Litfiba 3," notable for being one of the first Italian records to be entirely recorded digitally. The incredible 1980s for the band came to an end in 1989, the year of "Pirata," their second live album, which became a Gold Record.

For this week's first listen, we present "Re del silenzio"!
