Alex Bonacci approached the drums at a very young age.
Over time, studying and deepening his technical, expressive, and stylistic understanding of the instrument led him to change several teachers, thus broadening his perspectives on drums and music in general.
Among the experiences that marked his educational path stands out a course at the Berklee College of Music, where he studied drums with Ron Savage, theory and solfeggio with Ken Cervenka, harmony and composition with Matthew Nicholl; there are also many courses, masterclasses, and private lessons with masters such as Jeff Berlin, Omar Hakim, Peter Erskine, Chris Coleman, Dave Weckl, JoJo Mayer, Maurizio Dei Lazzaretti, Pat Martino, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, just to name a few.
Very active both in live performances and studio production, he began working in the music world professionally at just twenty-three years old, accompanying various artists in many contests such as the Heineken Jammin' Festival (finalist with All the Mornings of the World in 2012), International Pop Overthrow, Premio Musicultura (formerly Premio Recanati), Cornetto Free Music, Coca Cola Contest, Rock Targato Italia; furthermore, he collaborated with the band "Vincent" in 2005, with whom he won Sanremo Rock.
The long list of musicians he has collaborated with includes, among others, Tony Levin, Roberto Diana, Alessia D’Andrea (Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson, David Arch, Steafan Hannigan, etc.), William Jones, JP Cervoni, Stephan Zeh, Elisabetta Coraini, Rick Romano, Vince Tempera, James Raymond, Brian Ray, Stefano Olla, Lowlands (band with which he carried out the European tour “Gypsy child Tour 2011”), Florian Opahle, Ive (finalist at Eurovision 2009).
Currently, he is an endorser of the brand UFIP - Earcreated Cymbals and collaborates on musical projects such as the band LPN by William Jones, the Events Project band as well as playing as a live and studio session drummer.
In the educational field, he is a certified teacher of the national network “La casa del batterista” and has continued for years to train according to the international teaching framework, also obtaining the Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental and Vocal Teaching. He is director and drum teacher at the training center Perform School of music® (exam center for RSL Awards and Trinity College London) and country manager for Italy for the Music Learning Collective of Nottingham.
Here are some of the courses in which it is possible to be followed also by this teacher, in addition to the booklet of private lessons. Click the images.
